“On the Abyss and the Anti-Logos: Written by One Who Escaped”
What is in the abyss from which the
Anti-Logos takes form?
Nothing of value. In fact, nothing of beauty, of goodness, or
mercy. Think of all order--including any form of life, turned into a metaphysical virus designed to destroy through lies, manipulation, great
evil, destruction, deceit. Any form of intellectual rot within its reach is placed in the minds of its victims. It mocks the Logos, it mocks life, and strips the individual of Eternal Life. It tells them they will be gods, and turns them into sobbing victims. It tells them that if they just destroy the world, they will ascend to godhood, then leads them to
Eternal Death. The abyss, inhabited by the
Anti-Logos is an anti-creation, a parody of life, a banal, deceitful unmaker of all that lives, something so perverse that even those who indulge their darkest desires would shudder in horror.
The
Anti-Logos has come out of the abyss, and infects the mind. It unmakes things that are certain. It conceals the Divine. It hinders the seeker of
Truth, it divides and conquers. It unmakes people. It burns their fortunes away, and doesn’t even leave their ashes. It kills through sending its opponents at each other. It hates every race equally but tells each that they are the greatest. It feeds on pride, it starts false religions centered on death as transcendence, division as purity, and chaos as hope.
It wants nothing to escape its reach. It wants you to be dead, and works every day to make it happen. It infects the mouth of the sorceror, the gun of the murderer, the ideologue, the liar. Most of all, those who confuse the ability to discern what
Truth is are perplexed by it.
It works against the pleading of our dear
Virgin Mary for repentance. It wills fire to rain from the sky and consume people into
Hell. When
Satan speaks through the mouth of a sinner, it is the
Anti-Logos speaking. It is the most cunning creation
Evil has ever devised, because it makes the city ugly, life seem like garbage, despair seem like realism, and
salvation seem like a lie, which it is not.
God still offers it, and it takes only a conversion of heart to escape the
evil grip of the
Anti-Logos.
The truth about the abyss is that if one does not claw their way out, have a change of heart, and successfully protect themselves spiritually, the abyss never actually ends. It only gets worse the farther one goes, and one's life ends in tragedy, addiction, and dishonor. What comes after that?
Hell. Eternal torment. This is the life that has been handed to you by
modern society: tragedy, and then eternal torment. Like the rulers of Babylon, those who curate ideas in modern society would discard you to the underworld, to live in torment forever.
Modern society is a damnation machine, and the
Anti-Logos is the tool
Satan uses to run it. While
Satan cannot ultimately win, he can drag as many
souls as possible into
Hell, and that is the frightening truth of life in this world.
However,
God does not want to
damn the
souls that
Satan ensnares, but the truth is that they become ensnared by their own choice: usually a long series of bad decisions that starts with one desire to abandon
God. If one is oriented toward
Satan, or
Satan takes special interest in oneself, one may be attracted to the abyss, the underground of cults,
evil, nihilism, crime, magic, and other things that may sound romantic but in reality are not something that anyone would ever want to go through if they knew the truth of them.
The abyss may make music that oozes a dark, seductive beauty, but it's corrosive to the
soul and leads one on a journey downward. It is a journey that never ends if one does not turn back, and by embracing
God, who created the universe and loves you, you may be his child on Earth and in
Heaven, even if the path seems more difficult on the surface.
The abyss relies on people to romanticize it, to think they're immortalized by their Faustian bargain to abandon
God and seek pleasure, riches, or power, but the truth of the abyss is that it's simply where souls delude and corrupt themselves on the way to
Hell. There is beauty in the abyss, but only because we in our fallen nature find beauty in corruption, violence, and despair. This is not the beauty of the cross, but the ugliness of souls who failed to find the true path, who drop into the fire which opens like a flower that never stops blooming with horror, pain, terror, and inconsolable loss.
One does not simply reach the depths of corruption and moral depravity overnight, unless one is of an especially unfortunate disposition. Usually, one thinks that they are gaining freedom by rejecting
God or morality, and little by little, their moral compass is undone, until they are someone thoroughly infested with
Evil. Often--most often, in fact--the one who turns to the dark side does so not as a perpetrator, but as a victim.
Darkness has a way of concealing the truth of one's situation when one is immersed in
Evil. The paltry gains of the victim are outweighed by the losses caused by those preying on the deluded individual. However, seeing this is not easy, and it brings up questions that might cause a change of heart, which is something that
Satan does not want at all. Therefore, a spell of
darkness is cast over the victim, so that they might not see the errors of their ways, abandon their pride, and turn back toward the
light of
God.
However,
God waits for the return of those deceived by foolish designs. He lets them fester in the abyss, but the closer to
Hell one gets, the more
God puts pressure on one to return. This grace extended even to those who choose to abandon Him shows the depths of his
mercy, the intensity of his love, and his willingness to forgive.
